Since 1999, the Automation Systems Group at the Institute of Automation, TU Vienna is researching and teaching the topic of home and building automation. In the course of these activities, a variety of free software was developed.
All this software is Open Source. Its use is free, and full source code is available (however, check the licensing terms for redistribution and derivative works). Most of it is under the GNU General Public License.
A word of warning: These programs have the potential to DESTROY DATA (including the setup of your KNX/EIB installation), possibly even damage hardware. Be aware that you will be using this software AT YOUR OWN RISK. There is NO WARRANTY of any kind for the programs. Please refer to clauses 11 and 12 of the GNU General Public License.
Please also remember that the software, including any APIs, is still work in progress. Certain inconsistencies and errors may be present, and future versions may not be downward compatible (although we do try to avoid this).
